It is also known as whelk, a kind of skin inflammatory which is caused by blockage of hair follicles and sebaceous glands. Mostly blockage can cause propagation of anaerobic bacteria. Its features are pimples, herpes, and skin cyst.

Clinical Feature

1. The basic feature is the follicular papules, with a black head (Black acne) in the middle and surrounding tissue turning red, while pressing, white seborrhea plug rice-like bolts come out. Meanwhile, another feature is no black head white acne. Sometimes it can produce pustules on the top, if let it be, nodules, abscesses, cysts and scars and other damage will occur.
2. Sometimes amount of oil spilling caused seborrhea dermatitis on face and head based on the above damage. With the feature that face is greasy, erythema occurs in patches, which cover the oily crust, unhealed.
3. Main patients are among 15-30 years old.Male has higher morbidity than female. It mainly occurs on face, as well as in chest, back, shoulder and hip.
4. Patients feel itching or pain, and often presents one falls while another rises.
5. Acne conglobata lasts longer, multiple in male. Papules, nodules, cysts, sinus, scars are mixed together.
Note: Classification of Acne
I. It is mainly shown as acne, less quantity of papules, and pustules. The total number of lesions less than 30
II. It is mainly shown as acne and moderate amount of pimples and pustules. The total number of lesions is 31-50.
III. It is mainly shown a large number of papules, pustules. Total number of skin lesions of 50-100, nodules less than 3.
IV. Acne indurate cystic and acne conglobata, the total number of lesions more than 100, the member of nodules and cysts more than 3.

Histopathology

The holes of the hair follicle and sebaceous glands are blocked by sebaceous plug, cortex, water, keratin debris, foreign body. A large number of sebum accumulates in the sebaceous glands and hair follicles, while perspiration release is blocked, and bacteria and mites mass propagate damaging the tissue. Later periodthe hair follicle and sebaceous gland tissue are damaged, which are replaced by fibrous tissue.
